Frequently asked questions
- What does Starry Lumiere Labs do?
- Starry Lumiere Labs is Shivshankar Noorambada's color-grading and finishing studio in Bengaluru (Bangalore), India. Shivshankar also works as a cinematographer (director of photography). Between them they cover four ways of working: cinematography, color grading, shoot-to-grade (both as one process), and mastering with DCP/QUBE deliverables.
- Can I book cinematography and color grading together?
- Yes. The “From shoot to grade” engagement covers both as one continuous process — the look agreed on set is carried through to the final grade, with a single point of responsibility for the film's image.
- Do you grade films shot by another cinematographer?
- Yes. Color grading is available as a standalone service — look development and grading the full reel to one consistent image at Starry Lumiere Labs, with review passes for the director and producer, whether or not the film was shot by Shivshankar.
- Do you prepare DCP and QUBE packages?
- Yes. Once the grade is locked, the final master is prepared to the specification a release requires, including DCP and QUBE packages and other delivery-ready outputs.
- What kinds of projects do you work on?
- Almost any kind of video project — feature films, short films, music videos, advertisements, documentaries, OTT and corporate work, and trailers or teasers. Recent credits include Kannada and Konkani films. If your project doesn't fit a neat category, pick “Something else” on the enquiry form and tell us what it needs.
